The Yazoo-Mississippi Delta Levee Board is committed to educating students and teachers on levee functions, flood control, and the history and responsibilities of the YMDL Board. The board strives to educate youth, who in turn educate their parents, through many ways, including teacher workshops, classroom curriculum, levee tours, and field trips. Reggie Barnes, YMDLB education consultant, and Loris Johnson, YMDLB education liaison, work with the board to encourage citizens to take an active role in furthering their understanding of the levees.
